We can’t buy zen, no matter how much we spend.

As I sit in companionate silence with my fur-baby nestled in beside me on the couch, I find myself absorbing the peacefulness of the moment. 

The day is gray and the temperature chill. Mother Nature has reminded us that she has turned the page and winter is with us.

A moment of silence. A moment of prayer.

I’m a news junkie.  I’m an independent mind who follows politics. I’m a free thinker and a free spirit who listens to all sides, researches information, gets educated and weighs all facts before forming an opinion – and that opinion is subject to change as more information is received and processed.

I’m an American with a deep love and commitment to my country – despite any leadership that is in place – past, present or future.  I’m proud to be an American and always will be – even if I’m ashamed and disgusted by what’s transpiring in our country today, or any day.

Music to my ears.

As far back as I can remember, music has filled the air that I breathe. Music of all genres from vastly diverse decades and eras.

My family would sing along with the lyrics or hum to the beat, sometimes in tune but more often than not, way off key. Our fingers would be snapping, toes a tapping and dancing about could, and usually would, inevitably ensue.
