I find myself using the word ‘safe’ more and more these days. As a child, our parents would tell us to be safe and we’d be bothered by it. We thought them to be no fun or overprotective, only wanting to control us. We hardly, if ever, heeded their advice and weren’t smart enough to know that such a small word was filled with enormous amounts of love, care and wisdom.

Why again? When does it stop? How can we as a society help?
Let us grieve with the families of Uvalde and look deeper into the root of the problem that grows such tragedies.

I’m a news junkie. I’m an independent mind who follows politics. I’m a free thinker and a free spirit who listens to all sides, researches information, gets educated and weighs all facts before forming an opinion – and that opinion is subject to change as more information is received and processed.
I’m an American with a deep love and commitment to my country – despite any leadership that is in place – past, present or future. I’m proud to be an American and always will be – even if I’m ashamed and disgusted by what’s transpiring in our country today, or any day.
