It’s my usual post-dinner party reflection, when the table has been cleared, the dishwasher is running and the fragile pieces have been hand washed with love, dried and set aside to put away tomorrow – well, today.
Never have I gone straight to bed after a celebration. It’s my routine, no matter how tired, to plop into my comfy chair and unwind. Even if I fall into bed without taking my make-up off when all is said and done, which is a sin for me, I need my decompression time to reminisce about the evening.
Tonight I had the honor of celebrating the love of two very special couples – my parents and two dear friends, who exemplify what friendship on fire truly means. Despite my lifetime of failed romances, I am happy, yet envious, of those who have found such loyalty and commitment. What ideal examples they are of what love can be.
What a wonderful evening. The comfort and love, sarcasm and wit. There are no words to describe the feeling when you connect with friends who become family – we love you Jane and Peter. How blessed I am. I captured so many moments this evening that will remain with me for a lifetime.
My mother called to thank me, but no thanks was needed. I thanked her for affording me the opportunity to celebrate such love and such wonderful people.
It was my honor. because I’m the lucky one to have them all in my life.
Happy anniversary to you all!
