Daily thoughts. Points to ponder. Soulful reflections.

As we dance through our Saturday, complaining about the cold, the impending snow and our COVID restrictions, let us take a moment to remember how good we have it.

In chatting online with a fellow writer this morning, I was reminded of how much we take for granted in this country. How people bash America, disrespect each other’s views and opinions and feel sorry for ourselves because our kitchen isn’t big enough or we can’t afford a vacation this year.

Stop right there. There are those in this world who have no lights, no food or clean water. They don’t have job options to make a living, never mind complain that their kitchen isn’t big enough. Their basic needs may not even be met, yet here most of us are with clothes on our back, jobs that stress us out and a roof over our heads.

Life may not be perfect, but it’s pretty darned close for some.

Rather than complain about being stuck at home or looking for something to do in an attempt to relieve our boredom, how about volunteering? Why not give back in any way we can, in the U.S. and abroad, to make a difference in the lives of others?

There are a plethora of online opportunities. Check out one of these sites today and demonstrate your gratitude by being a blessing to others. Every little bit counts.
