Moments of awe, wonder and appreciation.

Have you ever found yourself caught up in a moment of awe, wonder and appreciation? Out of the blue you realize how very fortunate you are? How blessed?

I arrived there – again – tonight. It was in the midst of making volunteer calls in between work responsibilities, texts amongst people who I now call friends, and the realization that isolation during periods of deep introspection and stress aren’t necessarily healthy – yet needed.

Suddenly a moment of pure bliss and gratitude arose – wow, how wonderful life is because I have been gifted with the most wonderful family, friends and acquaintances, opportunities, and work that keeps me more busy than any normal person would want to be.

Thankful, that’s what I am. Not every moment of every day and anyone intimately close to me would reaffirm this is not always the case. Life is a struggle of ups and downs, struggles, and confusion. It is a constant fight or flight response, my sometimes reaction of perceiving a rather normal interaction as one of ‘survival of the fittest.’ There are moments when I win, then lose, then win again. But it’s not a matter of win or lose. It’s a matter of what we give, what we let go of, and what we learn. How can we grow? How can we contribute to our families, friends, and communities?

This blog will be closing soon. How soon I don’t know because I need to figure out how to export all posts so I don’t lose a lot of writing – but if I do, maybe it’s in the past and I should just let it go. to be determined.

So tonight – I’m filled with joy, appreciation, and blessings. And I thank each one of you who read, followed, commented or engaged with this blog in any way. Starting this blog and committing to it during COVID was life changing, and life affirming.

Today, I’m writing for a local paper that stretches beyond our town and state. It’s been an honor and a privilege. I want to focus on that as well as several books and daily calendars that I have in progress. It’s time.

In closing, please read this year’s 9/11 remembrance and never forget: https://evergreennewspaper.com/editions/

Most likely, this will be my final post. Thank you for reading. thank you for following. And thank you for being you.
